Beautiful Word Devotional #92

You, LORD, reign forever; your throne endures from generation to generation.

Lamentations 5:19

Nothing can make a human brain feel small like the concept of forever. The sky becomes space and extends forever! Our amazing God is eternal: He never didn’t exist. He has always been and always will be. And he always has and always will reign. Forever.

And what security we can know when we choose to trust the God who rules forever. God has walked alongside billions of people, and he continues to. Even as he was doing that, he fashioned you in your mother’s womb, and he knows you intimately. And he will know you and love you forever.

Sometimes all you need in the middle of a frustrating day is to remember the eternity of God. Your difficult day will pass. That undone relationship has the potential to be transformed. We can be confident because our God is bigger than it all.

Lord, you are a good God, a present God, an eternal God, and I love you, amen.
