Heartbreak - Bible Promises for Moms
Heartbreak
Years ago, I sat with a precious friend whose heart was broken. Her husband had run away with a younger woman and all of their money. She was left with their two sons and an empty bank account. This was the man who had pledged to love and cherish her until death parted them. I’ve never seen anyone sob the way my friend sobbed. We collapsed onto the floor, and I cried with her as she tried to come to terms with this incomprehensible, unjust outcome. This was not the life she had imagined. This world can be so hard, can’t it?
I’ve come to believe that God does His best work in the deep places. When we go through deep water, He is there. We may not know all the answers, but we do know the Healer. Today, my friend is remarried and is living a wonderful life. God is in the business of mending broken hearts. Whether we’re experiencing the heartbreak of a prodigal child, a broken marriage, or a friend’s betrayal, the Lord is never more than a whisper away, and He is leaning forward from His throne, eager to help us get through the impossible. He is the God of new beginnings.
WHEN YOUR CHILD’S HEART IS BROKEN . . .
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted;
he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
I hold you by your right hand—
I, the LORD your God.
And I say to you,
“Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.”
WHEN YOU STRUGGLE TO MAKE SENSE OF THE HURT . . .
The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help.
He rescues them from all their troubles.
We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
