Daily Power #268
Daily Power #268
I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws. (Ps. 119:30)
Recently I talked to a lady at my son’s soccer game who has been battling some health issues. She explained how she was close to God years ago and used to be very involved in our church. But when she started going through the “fire” with so many serious physical ailments, she questioned why God would allow it.
“How could I worship a God that I couldn’t trust?” she asked me, slightly embarrassed as she fought back tears.
Her question hits at the heart of one of life’s biggest decisions. Will we trust that God is good even when life is not? Our response to pain and challenges will determine so much about our future. If we decide to trust, we will grow in our faith, deepen in intimacy, and be conformed to the image of Christ. But if we allow our hearts to drift, we’ll wake up one day drowning in doubts, buried in burdens, and feeling far from the only one who can help us heal.
If you want to overcome your doubts, then trust God by faith. Continue to worship him, obey him, and seek him. Even when you can’t understand why he would allow you to experience what you’re going through, count on him to redeem it for your good and for his kingdom.
The way you respond to life’s challenges today will determine the strength of your faith tomorrow.
Power Lift
Father, I want to believe in your ability to redeem even the hardest moments of my life. Today I will trust in you and walk by faith and not by sight.
