MY QUESTION for GOD

How much does appearance matter?

A MOMENT with GOD

Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.

1 Peter 3:3-4

Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.

Proverbs 31:30

If you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.

James 1:23-24

Appearance does matter—but make sure you’re looking at the right things. Your body, face, and clothes reflect only your outward shell, which is in a constant process of aging and decay. Your soul and character reflect your inner being, which is ageless and eternal. In other words, the condition of your body does not reveal the condition of your heart. There’s nothing wrong with paying attention to your physical appearance, but not to the neglect of your spiritual appearance. It’s easy to get distracted and focus on your own appearance or the appearance of others. But you can have a tremendous impact on others when they hardly notice what’s on the outside because they see even more what’s on the inside—the light of God’s love and truth shining through you. Walking with God causes you to reflect his beauty.

DIVINE PROMISE
