Call Of God

Call of God

MY QUESTION for GOD

Does God call me to do specific things?

A MOMENT with GOD

The Lord gave me this message: “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”

Jeremiah 1:4-5

God may call you to do a certain job or to accomplish a very specific task or ministry. When that happens, he will make sure you know what it is. You will feel a very strong sense that God is leading you in a certain direction. It’s up to you to respond by walking through the door of opportunity God opens for you.

There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. . . . A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.

1 Corinthians 12:4, 7

Fully carry out the ministry God has given you.

2 Timothy 4:5

God gives each of us a spiritual gift (sometimes more than one!) and a special ministry in the church where we can use those gifts to help and encourage others and bring glory to his name. When you use your specific spiritual gift (or gifts), you help fulfill the purpose for which God made you.

Yes, each of you should remain as you were when God called you. Are you a slave? Don’t let that worry you—but if you get a chance to be free, take it. And remember, if you were a slave when the Lord called you, you are now free in the Lord. And if you were free when the Lord called you, you are now a slave of Christ. God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world. Each of you, dear brothers and sisters, should remain as you were when God first called you.

1 Corinthians 7:20-24

The call to follow Jesus does not necessarily mean a call to a specific job or Christian ministry. Sometimes your calling may simply be to obey God wherever you are right now.

Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do.

Ecclesiastes 11:9

God gives you the freedom to follow many different roads and pursue many different activities over the course of your life, but remember that you will have to answer to him. Not everything you do is a call from God, but everything you do is accountable to God.

DIVINE PROMISE

NOW MAY THE GOD OF PEACE MAKE YOU HOLY IN EVERY WAY, AND MAY YOUR WHOLE SPIRIT AND SOUL AND BODY BE KEPT BLAMELESS UNTIL OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST COMES AGAIN. GOD WILL MAKE THIS HAPPEN, FOR HE WHO CALLS YOU IS FAITHFUL.   1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
