Compromise

Compromise

MY QUESTIONS for GOD

When is compromise appropriate? How do I reach effective compromise?

A MOMENT with GOD

We will follow the advice given by you and by the others who respect the commands of our God. Let it be done according to the Law of God. Get up, for it is your duty to tell us how to proceed in setting things straight. We are behind you.

Ezra 10:3-4

It is within the will of God and the wisdom of Scripture to agree to give up something for the common good. But you must never compromise if it means acting against God’s Word. It is never appropriate to compromise the will of God as revealed in Scripture.

If another believer is distressed by what you eat, you are not acting in love if you eat it. Don’t let your eating ruin someone for whom Christ died.

Romans 14:15

In order to maintain unity in the body of Christ, a Christian must be willing to avoid certain things. This may require you to compromise your personal preferences, but never your Christian convictions.

Leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.

Matthew 5:24

Seeking God’s approval first requires reconciliation with God’s people. Reconciliation means giving up your pride to gain peace.

We who are strong must be considerate of those who are sensitive about things like this. We must not just please ourselves.

Romans 15:1

Sometimes you must compromise so you don’t offend others or cause them to stumble in their faith.

Make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

Philippians 2:2

Sometimes you should compromise for the sake of unity and accomplishing a common goal. This may mean giving up something you want for the sake of what the greater community wants or needs.

DIVINE PROMISE

ANYONE WHO WANDERS AWAY FROM THIS TEACHING HAS NO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. BUT ANYONE WHO REMAINS IN THE TEACHING OF CHRIST HAS A RELATIONSHIP WITH BOTH THE FATHER AND THE SON.

2 John 1:9
