MY QUESTION for GOD

What is the value of thinking through the consequences of my words and actions?

A MOMENT with GOD

To the man [God] said, “Since you . . . ate from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat, the ground is cursed because of you. All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it.”

The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.

Proverbs 18:21

Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.

Galatians 6:7

A gun fires, a bullet flies, and a person in its path dies. That death is the consequence of someone pulling the trigger of a loaded weapon. Similarly, hurtful words may be spoken that inflict wounds upon someone else. On the other hand, helpful words may be spoken that lead a person to Christ. In both cases, the words produce consequences. A consequence is an outcome, aftermath, or result. Some words or actions result in consequences that are neither morally good nor bad. For example, when you take a shower, the consequence is that you get clean. But many words and actions have definite good or bad consequences. Sin always causes bad consequences. Faithfulness to God always results in good consequences, even if they can’t be seen immediately. Before you act, ask yourself, what will be the consequences of these words or actions?
