Perseverance

Perseverance

My Question for God

Life has pretty much just beaten me down. Can I really come through struggles a stronger woman?

A Moment with God

We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.

2 Corinthians 1:8-9

May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.

2 Thessalonians 3:5

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

James 1:2-4

Perseverance has been well-defined as “courage stretched out.” Although God sometimes delivers his people from difficult or painful circumstances, he often calls you to a courageous and enduring faithfulness in the middle of trials. Perseverance, according to the Bible, is not only enduring difficult situations but overcoming them with obedience, hope, and joy. If you don’t learn to persevere through your struggles, you will simply give up. But when you persevere until you come out the other side, you grow stronger in faith, you see the benefits of obedience to God, and you develop greater confidence that when problems strike again you can get through them.
