Peace

Peace

My Question for God

Can I have peace in a world that is anything but peaceful?

A Moment with God

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

Isaiah 26:3

[Jesus said,] “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really loved me, you would be happy that I am going to the Father, who is greater than I am.”

John 14:27-28

So many things affect peace—conflict, uncertainty, busyness, worry, fear. How can you have peace with all that? You can’t prevent many of these things from invading your life, but you can have peace—a quiet, unshakable confidence—about the outcome. How do some people have such amazing peace just before they are martyred for their faith in Jesus? They know where they are going and that their treasure is in heaven. Let that assurance keep you from panicking in today’s storms. The outcome is certain.

Divine Promise

[Jesus said,] “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”

John 14:1-4
