Quitting

Quitting

My Question for God

How do I know when I need to keep going and when it’s time to quit?

A Moment with God

David continued, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple of the LORD is finished correctly.

1 Chronicles 28:20

Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning.

1 Corinthians 15:34

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. . . . We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus, will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you. . . . That is why we never give up.

2 Corinthians 4:8, 14-16

It is time to quit when you are doing something wrong, when your actions are futile, or when you are hurting yourself or others. Even if your action or behavior is not inherently wrong, if it is not productive and is absorbing too much of your time and attention or is a stumbling block to others, it’s time to quit. However, when God has called you to a task and you give up when it becomes difficult, you not only miss the great blessing of reaching your goal, but you might also incur discipline for not trusting God to help you get there. The fact that God asks you to do something doesn’t make it easy. In fact, the harder the road, the stronger you become. If you know that God is in what you are doing or that he is taking you in a certain direction, don’t give up just because the going gets tough. If anything, that should tell you that you are headed in the right direction. Keep moving forward with faith.

Divine Encouragement

Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
