Reconciliation
Reconciliation
My Question for God
Why is being at peace with others important to God?
A Moment with God
If you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.
Matthew 5:23-24
God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:19
Reconciliation is the heart of what it means to follow Jesus. Jesus suffered the agony of the cross to redeem sinful human beings and reconcile them to a holy God. Your reconciliation with God is a picture of how you are to be reconciled with others. Harmony in human relationships is so important to Jesus that he commands you even to leave worship in order to first come clean with the people in your life with whom you have conflict. In other words, to live with an unresolved conflict actually hinders your relationship with God. Is there anyone in your life with whom Jesus wants you to pursue reconciliation?
Divine Promise
Now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
Romans 5:11
