My Question for God

Where’s the romance in a life of faith?

A Moment with God

Long ago the LORD said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.”

Jeremiah 31:3

[The Lord said,] “I will win her back once again. I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her there. . . . I will make you my wife forever, showing you righteousness and justice, unfailing love and compassion. I will be faithful to you and make you mine, and you will finally know me as the LORD.”

Hosea 2:14, 19-20

Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him. For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb, and his bride has prepared herself.

Revelation 19:7

Romance is the language of love that fosters intimacy with another person. What a wonderful feeling when someone expresses his or her affection for you, enjoys your company, and is captivated by you. You feel confident, strong, and interesting to that person. As you read through the Bible, you learn that God himself is a romantic who desires an intimate relationship with you. He desires your constant company and is interested in the smallest details of your life. He wants nothing more than to walk with you through this life and for all eternity. As you realize your precious value to God, you will find confidence in your faith, strength to be faithful to him, and a deep hunger and desire to know more of him.

Divine Promise

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life.

Psalm 23:6
