How does knowing God give me true security?

A Moment with God

God’s way is perfect. All the LORD’s promises prove true.

From retirement investment portfolios to home-protection systems, we spend vast amounts of time and money on security. Financial security, personal security, job security, relational security, and even national security are sooner or later threatened by the unpredictable nature of the world in which we live. Despite the changing nature of the world around you, you can always be truly secure about two things: First, when you make decisions and live each day based on the changeless truths of God’s Word, you have complete assurance that you are doing the right thing. There are fundamental principles of right and wrong, true and false, good and bad that never change because God established them at the creation of the universe. Follow these biblical principles, and you can be secure in knowing that what you are doing is not only right but also pleasing to God. When you build your faith day by day on the truths of God’s Word, you have built a solid foundation that will not easily crack under the world’s pressure.

Second, you can be certain that your eternal future is secure in heaven when you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died to forgive your sins and rose again to live forever. When Jesus rose from the dead, he proved that he has power over death and therefore gives you the confidence that his promise that you will live forever is certain.

Divine Promise

God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
