How can I overcome my insecurities to become a secure, confident woman?

To think more highly of yourself than you should is pride. But to think less of yourself than you should is false humility. In one sense that can be pride too: pride in your supposed humility. In between, there is an honest appraisal of your own worth based on who you are in God, and that is self-esteem. God values you highly because he loves you deeply. But you must not think you are sufficient without God. Your sufficiency is in God. Your value is tied to the value he places on you and the purpose for which he created you. That makes you a woman of great value indeed.

If you struggle with insecurity, it may mean that you’re measuring your value by the wrong things. The only thing that matters—and the only way to be secure—is to find your value as a creation of God, one of his masterpieces. Because of God’s power within you, you should have a healthy and confident self-esteem, because with him you are capable of doing far more than you could ever dare to dream.
