My Question for God

What happens when I learn to use my strengths and weaknesses for God?

A Moment with God

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.

Not having bulging biceps or massive shoulders, a petite, slender woman might appear, at first glance, to be physically weak. Then you discover that she can run a marathon in under three hours. A bodybuilder might appear to have great strength until he demonstrates a weakness for drugs or alcohol. The Bible speaks about this tendency of strength and weakness to impersonate each other in our lives. Sometimes what seems strong is actually weak, and what appears weak is quite strong beneath the surface. External appearances are not a good indicator of internal spiritual strength. As you mature in your relationship with God, you learn to recognize your weaknesses and your strengths. Everybody has both; you cannot mature until you admit this. Thus, the presence of weakness in you need not trouble you. In fact, it is when God works through your weaknesses that he calls out the best in you. He works through your weaknesses in order to show his strength. And the best way to maximize your strengths is to exercise them by serving and helping others; then your strengths multiply through them. Using your strengths only to benefit yourself weakens you, because you become self-centered. The truly strong rely on God to use both their strengths and their weaknesses to serve and glorify him.
