Hope For Healing - In the Morning When I Rise
Hope For Healing
What is an example from Scripture of your healing and redeeming of past hurts?
I redeemed Israel from those too strong for them. They will be radiant because of my good gifts—the abundant crops of grain, new wine, and olive oil, and the healthy flocks and herds. Their life will be like a watered garden, and all their sorrows will be gone. I will turn their mourning into joy. I will comfort them and exchange their sorrow for rejoicing.
Jeremiah 31:11-13
What are some ways you might bring healing in my life?
Never forget my commandments, for by them I give you life. My discipline is good, for it leads to life and health. I restore your health and allow you to live! I will restore to you the joy of your salvation, and make you willing to obey me.
Psalm 119:93; Isaiah 38:16; Psalm 51:12
What can I pray as I hope for healing?
Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Renew my life with your goodness. You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth.
Psalm 51:10; Psalm 119:40; Psalm 71:20
The best place to begin a journey of healing is by inviting Jesus into your pain. Often a physical act, such as kneeling, precedes a heart response. Get down on your knees before God (or lie on a bed if you can’t kneel) as a symbol of your readiness to talk to him about your pain, and ask him to begin the process of healing your heart. Prayerfully consider the next step in your healing, such as seeing a counselor, memorizing Scripture, giving or receiving forgiveness, or pursuing reconciliation.
