Magnificent Prayer #209
Thou wilt light my candle.
Psalm 18:28 KJV
God never asks for personalities. God asks for persons. He calls all kinds of people and chooses quite ordinary men and women for His great work. He somehow calls persons and makes them personalities (persons of distinctive quality). He gives power. Every kind of power comes in the Spirit: intellectual power, moral power, spiritual power, physical power. There is no higher quality of man anywhere, and he can be produced everywhere by the power of the Holy Spirit. He quickens the mind, purifies the heart, and strengthens the whole man.

Pray About It: When we walk in the Holy Spirit, we are led by God. He makes us into the kinds of people and personalities He wants us to be. He gives Himself as the flame for the candle. In so doing we receive health in our minds, bodies, and spirits.
To pray is to be healthy in spirit. May God quicken us and strengthen us today for the work we have to do.
Prayer at its best is the expression of the whole life, for all things being equal, our prayers are only as powerful as our lives.
