Magnificent Prayer #331

Magnificent Prayer #331

Tell it to your children,

and let your children tell it to their children,

and their children to the next generation.

Joel 1:3

Give me a hundred men who love God with all their hearts, and fear nothing but sin, and I will move the world.

JOHN WESLEY

Pray About It: How is it with your family? John Wesley was one of twenty children born to Susanna Wesley. Even with such a large family and no modern conveniences, she still set aside time every day to pray for her children.

God honored her faithfulness by raising up John and his brother Charles who both helped change the world for Christ. As Susanna prayed for her children, she had no way of knowing what God would do. She simply kept at it, day after day, year after year.

Do you have children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, or other children in your family for whom you can consistently pray? Be sure of one thing: If we don’t have Christian prayer warriors raising up the next generation of believers through their prayers, history will once again be changed—but this time, not for Christ, but for the advancement of evil.

Today, pray for the next generation. Pray specifically for those children whom you know and can regularly follow—thus knowing how to pray for them.

O God, I thank Thee because, when I have been for some time interrupted in my work and my thoughts of Thee have been diverted, I have found how pleasing it is to my mind to feel the motions of Thy Spirit quickening me and exciting me to return.
