Malachi 3:10

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do, . . . I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!

God challenged his people to faithfully tithe, and in return, he promised to pour out his blessings. During this time, a tithe was a tenth of one’s produce or livestock. God calls us to demonstrate this same faithfulness today with our income. We can always find an excuse to not give back to God a portion of what he has given to us; yet he challenges us to put him to the test. How might God be asking you to trust him to care for you as you more generously give to others?
