If you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.

So often Jesus’ teachings are in opposition to the world’s. Our culture teaches that the powerful, beautiful, wealthy, and successful should be held in high esteem. But Jesus calls his followers to a radically different way of life—to see and serve the least. Think about which of your coworkers and neighbors the world would consider to be the least. Ask God to open your spiritual eyes to see them and love them the way Jesus does. Remember, he promises to reward those who choose to obey.
