Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.

This verse would be an excellent prayer to pray every time you open God’s Word. When we come to him with willing and humble hearts, God promises to reveal divine wisdom, insight, knowledge, and truth—often tailor-made to our specific circumstances. It helps us know him better and live out our faith more effectively. This prayer puts our hearts in a posture of humility so we’re prepared to receive the supernatural help and wisdom that God’s Word offers. It also reminds us of our utter dependence on our Creator. When was the last time you took a moment to pray for insight before you opened your Bible? Expect God’s wonderful truths to produce great change within your heart.
