Armed With Strength - The One Year Book of Bible Promises
Armed with Strength
You have armed me with strength for the battle; you have subdued my enemies under my feet.
Psalm 18:39
MOST BATTLES DON’T take place on physical battlefields. Far more take place every day between individuals or within ourselves, and they don’t involve physical combat. Though they don’t necessarily end in physical death, they can have deadly consequences. Business partnerships explode, marriages terminate, teenagers abuse drugs, and the elderly are neglected. Sometimes others unfairly malign us, sometimes we are our own worst enemies. And we get battle weary because these battles pop up everywhere and never seem to end.
The good news is that we may lose some of those battles temporarily, but we win the war because of Christ’s victory. Not only that, but as we trust in God and take up his armor, he is victorious through us. Our enemies—spiritual, human, or internal—can never prevail against us in the long run. Study Scripture and learn of the tools God has given us to outwit and conquer our enemies, building ourselves up in him to grow ever stronger to withstand the evil days that may come our way.
For Christians, live or die, whatever battles we may face today—whether they’re in the home, the office, or on an actual military battlefield—we can be sure we are never alone. God gives his word that he will be there, to stand at our side, to give us the power we need to succeed.
