Treasure Hunting - The One Year Daily Wisdom
Treasure Hunting
Read Proverbs 2
Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures.
Proverbs 2:3-4
Some things are worth searching for, waiting for, and working for. If we lost a hundred dollar bill, we would probably turn the house upside down trying to find it. We would retrace our steps until we remembered where we had put it. In adventure stories, there is often a hidden treasure that both the good guys and the bad guys are intently seeking—even to the point of death. Most of the time, they don’t know what the treasure holds; they just know something is there and they want to be the first to find it.
It is with such passion that we should search for “insight” and “understanding.” These are as valuable as hidden treasure. Life is a mystery; so much is unclear. Our sovereign God will not give us all the answers, but he does promise a certain amount of insight and understanding that will help us through. To find him is to find the greatest treasure of all.
