Is God interested in the success of my business?

God’s Response

A Jew named Aquila . . . had recently arrived from Italy with his wife, Priscilla. . . . Paul lived and worked with them, for they were tentmakers just as he was. Acts 18:1-3

You know that these hands of mine have worked to pay my own way, and I have even supplied the needs of those who were with me. And I have been a constant example of how you can help the poor by working hard. Acts 20:34-35

To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—that is indeed a gift from God. Ecclesiastes 5:19

Paul, Aquila, and Priscilla were all Christian leaders in ministry and in business. They are examples of early Christians who used their business and some of its proceeds to serve God. God honors integrity, excellence, and hard work. While these character traits don’t necessarily bring financial blessing, you can be sure that God will take special interest in any enterprise whose leaders acknowledge him and faithfully live by his standards. The impact of your business will be far more significant than a strong balance sheet.

God’s Promise

Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. . . . The Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward. Colossians 3:23-24
