I’ve heard that the best defense is a good offense. So how do I fight back?

God’s Response

Take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:17

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

“Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the LORD your God; serve only him.’ ” Matthew 4:10

Your offensive weapon is the Word of God. It’s odd to think of the Bible as a weapon, but in it God reveals his plan of attack against everything and everyone that tries to bring you down. It is your battle plan; if you don’t read it you won’t know how to fight the battle that literally determines your destiny. Only by knowing whom you are fighting, where the battle is, and how to defend yourself will you be able to win. It is vital to read God’s Word as regularly as possible. This is the weapon that sends Satan running for cover.

God’s Challenge

For the word of God is full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires. It exposes us for what we really are. Hebrews 4:12
