How can I draw close to God as my heavenly Father?

God’s Response

His name is the LORD—rejoice in his presence! Father to the fatherless, defender of widows—this is God, whose dwelling is holy. Psalm 68:4-5

We know that there is only one God, the Father, who created everything, and we exist for him. And there is only one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom God made everything and through whom we have been given life. 1 Corinthians 8:6

A good father loves his children by spending time with them, providing for them, protecting them, celebrating with them, disciplining them, praying with them, teaching them right from wrong, and leading them to faith in Jesus Christ. God is the perfect father, and he always will be. Earthly fathers sometimes let us down and eventually they leave this earth, but God will never disappoint you. His love is everlasting and he longs to draw close to you. Let him do so, and you will experience a peace like never before.

God’s Promise

Because you Gentiles have become his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, and now you can call God your dear Father. Galatians 4:6
