Wealth

Wealth

What is the relationship between wealth and contentment?

God’s Response

Tell those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which will soon be gone. But their trust should be in the living God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. 1 Timothy 6:17

Those who love money will never have enough. How absurd to think that wealth brings true happiness! Ecclesiastes 5:10

Trust in your money and down you go! Proverbs 11:28

Money and possessions can easily deceive you into thinking, If only I had a little more, I would be content. Nothing could be further from the truth. Always wanting a bit more is a sign of discontent. Contentment is not based on how much material wealth you have, but on how much spiritual wealth you have. If you look to money to make you feel content, you will always be disappointed.

God’s Challenge

No one can serve two masters. . . . You cannot serve both God and money. Matthew 6:24
