Self-esteem

Self-Esteem

How can I develop healthy self-esteem?

God’s Response

Be honest in your estimate of yourselves, measuring your value by how much faith God has given you. Romans 12:3

God has given gifts to each of you. . . . Manage them well so that God’s generosity can flow through you. 1 Peter 4:10

Healthy self-esteem comes from an honest appraisal of yourself —not too proud, because your gifts and abilities were given to you by God, yet not so self-effacing that you fail to use your gifts and abilities to their potential. Using your gifts to bless and serve others actually increases your self-worth because it takes the focus off of yourself and allows God to work more effectively through you.

God’s Promise

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! Psalm 139:17
