Motivate One Another

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.

Hebrews 10:24

Besides God’s Word, I learn the most from other women like you. I walk around our home and point to things I have been motivated to do because “sweet so-and-so” taught me. Not only does it bring a smile to my face, but it also benefits my family and friends who enjoy our home. More important, these special gifts of beauty and order, cooking and cleaning, and godly parenting all bring honor and glory to the Lord.

We all benefit from the suggestions of others encouraging us in specific ways to do things that show love. For example, my linen closet looked presentable only when the door was closed. But when a new Sweet Monday friend encouraged me to organize my closet and make it look pretty, I took it to heart. That week, I actually took the doors off my closet so I would have no secrets to hide. Little by little, I added attractive, sturdy baskets to house our sheets and toiletries. Now my family is sweetly served because they can easily locate items.

My friend Daphne taught me how to make easy, quick rolls after I had spent years throwing away yeast packs because they expired. My daughter loves bread, and she really appreciates it when I make Daphne’s rolls. What a fun way to incorporate God’s command in Hebrews to think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love as we share our lives with each other. That command provides endless opportunities for encouraging others.
