Ask God The Big Questions
Ask God The Big Questions
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
1 Corinthians 13:12
How do you (or did you) get ready for a night out with someone new? I bet you put a considerable amount of time into hiding all your imperfections and looking your very best. Yet as you got to know that person, and as you built trust, I bet you relaxed and let your image go a bit. You grew to feel you could be yourselves together in sweatpants in front of the TV. You became comfortable showing the real you. That’s because with increased intimacy comes increased honesty—which is exactly what God wants in His relationship with you.
As your relationship with God moves from casual dating to a daily commitment, it’s essential you quit trying to perform for His acceptance and just be real. It’s essential you invite God to stir up all that’s in your heart. And you can start with asking Him:
• to ignite your passion.
• to reveal areas in your life that might need some work.
• to give you a clearer picture of His plans for the future.
Honesty with God can only bring you closer to Him, so don’t be afraid to be honest—and ask Him for His honesty in return.
God, please show me how to drop my defenses and be open with You, so I can hear what You have to say to me.
