Made For This

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

1 Corinthians 9:24

Before you were born, God chose and marked out a specific lane on the track of life for you. It’s filled with your purpose and destiny. That lane has your name on it, and it’s designed for your specific race—a perfect one made just for you to run.

God created you, He has positioned you in a certain place in time, and He has given you special gifts and talents for the divine purpose of serving this generation. There are certain things He wants you to achieve while you are on this side of eternity. He wants you loving people with His love. Taking a stand for His moral standards. Boldly sharing the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection for people’s sins.

When you stand before God one day and reflect on your race, you will look back on what you did with the time He gave you, the talents He gave you, and the treasure He placed in your hands (Romans 14:12). So evaluate how you’re running your race. Make any adjustments necessary, and stay close to Him. Run your race well, because you were made for this!

Gracious Lord, please help me honor You with my life every day. Guide me in my decisions so I can accept the good things You have picked out for me.
