He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 1:6

What good work has God begun in you? What purpose has He called you to fulfill? Rest assured, every good work He’s started, He will complete. He will see you all the way to the finish line. And it all starts with the first work of saving you . . .

If you are seeking Christ, He is beginning and carrying on a continual cycle of good works in you. It starts like this: The more we become like Christ, the more readily and genuinely we love people. The more we love people, the more we want to serve them. We best serve them when we rely on God’s power, His resources, and His ways—so we rely on Him and become even more like Him. It’s a miraculous cycle of renewal.

In your Christian life, you are in the process of increasingly “[living] a life worthy of the Lord . . . growing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10). And at the same time that Jesus does this transformational work in us, He is transforming the world through us.

God has a perfect plan for your life. A purpose for you to fulfill. And He will complete what He has started in you—what He has planted in your heart.

Jesus, I trust You to complete what You have begun in me. I will complete all that You created me to do.
