Communion

Relationship is about coming together. And coming together can be difficult. It feels hard enough to learn how to make our marriages work, to learn how to talk to our kids, to hold on to our closest friends. Who has the time to go beyond any of that and pay attention to the communities outside our circle?

But realize this: you need your community. Relating to those outside your circle can actually help your marriage, your kids, and your friendships. It can help to make your most important relationships work.

And also realize that your community needs you. Quality relationship isn’t seen just through community but through communion, through diverse parts of God’s creation working together. Our human communities must strive to do the same. There can be no communion if you don’t play your role in the greater scheme of things.

Expand your vision for how you can join the human race in pursuing what matters.
