The Mirror You Should Be Looking Into
The Mirror You Should Be Looking Into
It makes sense that in order to move from weakness to strength, we should first look at ourselves. We should take a good, hard look in the mirror and see what we see.
Looking at ourselves can be helpful in reflecting on our behavior and in understanding how we see ourselves. But too often, we become preoccupied with the image we see. We worship our strengths and think we don’t need change, or we despair over our weaknesses, thinking we’ll never change.
That’s why there’s another mirror we should look into. We should reflect on God’s image. This is done through worship, prayer, meditating on Scripture, and seeing God in His creation.
God’s image projects nothing but light. When you look into an image that reflects light, that light reflects back on you. By no effort of your own, you begin to glow with the strength of God.
What mirror are you looking into? Find your strength by looking into His.
We all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory.
—2 Corinthians 3:18
