Daily Power #241

Daily Power #241

I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God. (Rom. 15:17)

Sometimes when I’m doing something I know I was created to do, I sense God’s pleasure bubbling up within me. Whether it’s preaching or leading a meeting with my team, even just helping my kids get through some problem they’re facing, I’ll catch myself feeling this sense of happiness, the joy of fulfilling my God-given purpose.

When was the last time you experienced this kind of sensation, the feeling you were doing something so significant, so personal, so uniquely what you were made for? It could’ve been cooking a meal for your family or completing a report at work, balancing the tires for a customer or helping a friend with her makeup. Your joy might come from painting, writing, baking, teaching, coaching, counseling—whatever it is, do it to the best of your ability for the glory of God.

Our Father has gifted each of us with diverse and personalized abilities. And when we use them and grow in our ability to serve others with them, we can rest assured he’s pleased with us. This is the secret to true contentment, the abundant life Jesus told us he came to bring. Your joy will be made complete as you fulfill your purpose, reflect his glory, and advance God’s kingdom.

Thank you, God, for the unique ways you’ve created me. I want to glorify you by the way I use my gifts to serve others.
