Magnificent Prayer #66
Magnificent Prayer #66
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6:12
When the devil sees a man or woman who really believes in prayer, who knows how to pray, and who really does pray, and, above all, when he sees a whole church on its face before God in prayer, “he trembles” as much as he ever did, for he knows that his day in that church or community is at an end.

Pray About It: Why have so many churches grown cold? Why are so many of our communities spiritually desolate? In some cities you can sense a cloud of evil or materialism that quenches righteousness. The enemy has gained a stronghold in these communities and until churches and individual Christians stand in the gap for these areas, Satan will continue to destroy lives. But his influence can be reversed. A band of believing Christians who covenant to pray for their community can bring dramatic results in a short time.
How is it in your town? Are you aware of what’s happening spiritually? Does righteousness prevail? Are the schools and streets safe? Does drug use, pornography, crime, violence, and abortion have a foothold? Or perhaps your community is plagued by materialism, greed, broken family relationships, alcoholism, and “white-collar” sin. Christians have the power to halt sin in their localities through vigorous, sustained prayer.
Today, think about your community, identify the major problems, and begin to pray against the work of the enemy. Pray for the churches. Pray for renewal among the Christians. Pray for the children.
Wherever the church is aroused and the world’s wickedness arrested, somebody has been praying.
