1 Timothy 6:6-7
1 Timothy 6:6-7
True godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it.
The contentment that Paul experienced and encouraged us to attain is among life’s most elusive qualities. The answer to the question “How much is enough?” always seems to be “Just a little bit more.” So how can we resist the urge to find contentment in the pursuit of happiness, pleasure, or material possessions? True contentment is found in knowing what brings lasting gratification. When we follow Jesus, we know that this world is not all there is. We have an eternal relationship with our Creator, who satisfies our deepest longings. The “stuff” of this world doesn’t matter anymore for those who keep this perspective. Ask God to help you trust that he is enough.
