Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

When we work to gain the appreciation or validation of others, we will almost always be left feeling disappointed. No one can fully understand the effort and care that goes into our work, especially when much of it goes unseen. But God sees what we do, and he encourages us to work with enthusiasm—as though we were working for him instead of others. Imagine God beside you as you work today. Think of yourself as working for him, and remind yourself that when you partner with the Lord, you are building his Kingdom on earth! This will help you work with a joyful and thankful heart, remembering that nothing you do for God is ever wasted.
