Be A Man Of Integrity

Be A Man Of Integrity

People with integrity walk safely, but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed.

Proverbs 10:9

AMONG ALL THE MEN IN THE BIBLE, who better exemplifies integrity than Job? God said there was not another man on earth with Job’s integrity. Job feared God, turned away from evil, resisted Satan’s temptations, and maintained his integrity even when his friends turned against him and his wife begged him to curse God.

We hope we’re never tested as Job was. All of his children died in a windstorm; all of his animals (i.e., his wealth) were stolen or killed; all of his servants were murdered. In other words, he suffered severely. Maintaining integrity was no easy thing for Job, and it isn’t for us, either.

What does it look like to be a man of integrity today? How do we show that we fear God? By trusting and obeying in the power of the Spirit. How do we turn away from evil? By loving God more than the things of this world. And that happens as we learn to rest in God’s great love for us.

How can you resist temptation? Spend time daily in God’s Word, striving to maintain a clean mind and a pure heart. Run from anything that would endanger your marriage or your family. Have other guys in your life who love you and help you stay honest in all your relationships and responsibilities.

Integrity doesn’t just happen. We need a plan to ensure that we’re living lives of integrity.

BOTTOM LINE

What plan do you have or will you put in place to be a man of integrity? Ask God to guide you in becoming a man of integrity.
