Loving Your Neighbors

Loving Your Neighbors

How am I to love my neighbors?

God’s Response

Always judge your neighbors fairly, neither favoring the poor nor showing deference to the rich. Do not spread slanderous gossip among your people. Do not try to get ahead at the cost of your neighbor’s life, for I am the LORD. Leviticus 19:15-16

Love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:39

Why did Jesus say to love your neighbor as yourself? Because God knows that our first instinct is to take care of ourselves. If we can train ourselves to think of others as being just as important to us as we are, then we have truly made them a priority. And caring for others is what love is all about.

God’s Promise

It is good when you truly obey our Lord’s royal command found in the Scriptures: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” James 2:8
