Remember His Benefits

Remember His Benefits

Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins . . . and crowns you with love and compassion.

Psalm 103:2–4

A benefit is an allowance to which one is entitled. It’s an advantage. God is telling us in Psalm 103 that there are benefits to being a Christian. This entire psalm is loaded with benefits—promises from God—that He does not want us to forget.

• He forgives all of our sins. To forgive is to remit, let off, pardon. He has set us free from all guilt and condemnation (Romans 8:1).

• He heals all our diseases—both physical and spiritual. I know not everyone is healed this side of heaven, but they are healed one way or another. My own father passed away from cancer. I know that kind of pain and suffering. But I will always pray for healing. I will always believe for life, because His Word says He heals all our diseases.

• He redeems our lives from the pit. That means He delivers us and frees us from every stronghold: addiction, abuse, fear, even our stupid mistakes.

• He crowns us with love. Imagine that. Right after He redeems us, He crowns us with love and compassion.

God’s benefits are for you today. Read this list over and over because He doesn’t want you to ever forget them. He wants to give you every advantage.

Thank You, God, for daily loading me with benefits. For giving me every advantage to succeed.
